The Thumb Stud and Emerson Hook on both sides allow the knife to be opened quickly in two ways. Emerson Opening (Emerson Wave) Ernest Emerson's patented hook located on the back of the blade. Physical Vapor Deposition Gun Met - durability of the surface and edges of the blade is increased by the PVD method consisting in deposition of thin layers from the gas phase. Applied coating has very high hardness which significantly increases the blade resistance to rust and abrasive wear.
