Böker Plus Spark Black Micarta, Stonewash 440C by Kornel Kiss knife (02BO010)

Spark Black Micarta, Stonewash 440C is a compact, versatile knife with a fixed blade and full tang construction. Designed by Kornel Kiss, a Hungarian knife maker and outdoor enthusiast, as a basic expedition knife.

AISI 440C (American Iron and Steel Institute) high-carbon (min. 0.95%) martensitic alloy stainless steel with a hardness of 57-59 HRC with impressively high strength and corrosion resistance, containing min. 16% chromium. The high carbon content results in the formation of chromium carbide compounds, providing wear resistance and edge retention after hardening. Due to its high hardness, the steel is suitable for the manufacture of cutting tools for knife and scissor blades and medical instruments.

Blade - Drop Point type blade with a thickness of 4.3 mm finished with a glare leveling and scratch masking Stonewash method. Plain blade, brought out with a Flat Grind for excellent cutting properties. Notched section of the back of the head, ramp (jimping / crosshatching) positions the thumb, gives solid support and makes it easier to operate the knife.

Handle - made of Micarta composite (material or canvas pressed under pressure with synthetic resin) in black, attached to the tang with screws. Thanks to the rough texture of the handle, the knife does not slip in the hand during use. In the back of the handle a lanyard hole, which is a hole for a safety or decorative cord.

Sheath - flat, made of kydex, with holes on the periphery for multi-position installation of a belt holder.
