Katla Stonewashed Titanium, Stonewashed a unique knife aimed at discerning consumers, combines elegant style with the finest materials. Jesper Voxnaes' design combines 2 different options for opening the blade, a deep clip, legendary quality of the Viper brand!
Jesper Voxnaes began creating knives in 1989 when he was just 18 years old, forging each blade completely on his own. His unique style stems from the meeting of his roots in world-renowned Scandinavian design with his passion for American knifemaking. This original approach quickly made his knives very popular, especially in the US, so much so that he was able to expand his business with machines he made himself. Since then, he has been a professional knifemaker and has worked as a designer with many top knife companies, achieving great success in many different fields.
M390 Microclean® - a martensitic high-performance chrome steel produced by powder metallurgy. Due to its alloy concept, it has extremely high wear resistance and high corrosion resistance. Due to its high wear resistance, it adequately maintains the shape of the edge, so the blade stays sharp for a very long time (requiring minimal maintenance). Another of the advantages is resistance to the formation of "wire" during sharpening. The steel has a high chromium content of 20.0% (Cr) with an admixture of 1.9% carbon (C), vanadium 4.0% (V), hardened between 59-61 HRC. Subjected to vacuum and cryogenic treatments and double tempering. This super steel is comparable to Carpenter's CPM 20CV or CTS-204P steels. Manufactured by Böhler Edelstahl in Kapfenberg, Austria.
Blade - modified Tanto with clearly marked blade belly with Stone Washed scratch-masking finish. The small thickness of the blade combined with a high, flat grind (Flat Grind) results in excellent cutting edge geometry and extreme cutting performance. Ball bearing system aids in the smooth opening of the blade, which can be opened with thumb studs or a very fast flipper. Liner-Lock mechanism.
Handle - solid titanium grips, sandblasted for a slightly rough texture. Bolted to a CNC-milled backspacer, which preserves the high rigidity and resistance of the structure. The backspacer and the decorative ring around the pivot, the so-called pivot collar, were made of phosphor bronze (phosphor bronze). The right-side, single-position titanium deep-carry clip allows you to carry the knife discreetly in tip-up position (tip up). At the end of the Handle lanyard hole, a hole for a cord.
