Karambit w/ Emerson Wave Black G10, Black Idroglider concept advanced knife made by the Italian FOX Company shows how much the traditional South East Asian karambit knives have evolved. Hawkbill blade made of N690Co steel with Idroglider® Black coating, Tip-Up clip, three quick opening systems, Emerson hook, flipper, longitudinal cut.
Karambit - a type of knife that originated in Indonesia, with roots in Malaysia and the Philippines. It is characterized by a finger ring and a sickle-shaped blade, which is characterized by great cutting efficiency. Hawkbill mimics the way an eagle's claw or a tiger's claw rips through, piercing and cutting simultaneously. Used as a working knife and for defense.
Emerson Wave - located on the back of the blade, Ernest Emerson's patented hook allows you to quickly open the blade when removing the knife from the pocket by hooking the hook to the edge of the pocket. Thanks to Wave, any Emerson folder equipped with this solution is the fastest knife in the world when it comes to opening speed. It's also faster than an automatic knife, as it's ready to use once you grab it.
N690Co - cobalt-rich 1.65% (Co) corrosion-resistant, high-carbon 1.07% (C), martensitic chromium steel 17.30% (Cr) with molybdenum 1.10% (Mo), vanadium 0.10% (V). Developed to provide better wear resistance compared to the original Böhler N690 steel, but with higher cobalt (Co) content in its composition. It features exceptionally high corrosion resistance and long edge retention. One of the best tool steels in the world today. Hardened in the range of 58-61 HRC. Manufactured by Böhler Edelstahl in Kapfenberg, Austria.
Idroglider® Black - the durability of the blade surface and cutting edge has been enhanced with a scratch-resistant, matte black non-reflective protective coating made from PTFE. This coating ensures long-lasting performance and rust resistance.
Blade - with an Hawkbill profile, the rounded shape of the blade is very effective in cutting. The profile mimics the way an eagle's claw or a tiger's claw tears, piercing and cutting at the same time. The blade is covered with a matte sandblasted Bead Blasted coating. Smooth blade (Plain type) with an ultra-thin tip and perfect curvature for maximum cutting capacity. The oval cut in the blade has increased the hump of the thumb rest (ramp), which positions the thumb directly over the opening, allowing the knife to be opened quickly when wearing a glove. Thumb ramp facilitate safe handling of the folder. Blockade Liner-Lock type.
Handle - non-slip linings with a Rouge type texture for better grip. Made of durable, resistant to mechanical damage, chemicals and low temperatures G10 material. They do not conduct electricity, they prevent the gloves from freezing to the covers. Open-backed design reduces weight, simplifies cleaning. Spine jimping notches on the back of the handle for a secure grip. Mounting clip (left / right) for carrying the knife in the tip-up position with the tip up. The handle ends with a polished ring (Back Ring) made of T6-6082 aviation aluminum. Makes it easy to rotate the folder around your finger, allowing you to perform traditional techniques.
