Balisong / butterfly / batangas / taal / butterfly, a type of folding knife used for defence. The folder derives its name from Balisung in the Philippines meaning singing butterfly. Dating back to the 7th century AD, it is considered one of the oldest weapons in the Kali fighting system. It is one of the most recognizable types of knives in the world.
3Cr13MoV - the blade is made of stainless steel with a vanadium and molybdenum admixture increasing wear resistance. Resistant to corrosion, easy to process and sharpen. Corresponds in parameters to 420 steel.
Drop point head finished in Stonewashed method. Plain blade with Hollow Grind. Double sided rim protects hand from slipping on the blade. Solid kicker, when the knife is folded, prevents the blade from coming into contact with the interior of the handle and damaging the cutting edge.
Handle - the steel shoulders as well as the blade are finished in Stone washed method. The knurled handle provides a comfortable, secure grip to facilitate the performance of advanced tricks. The blade is locked in place by connecting the arms with Latchem, a small twist at the back of the handle that allows the arms to be locked in both the open and closed positions.
