KUR G10 Brown / Black Blade, a lightweight, handy and durable E.D.C. folder by the Italian LionSteel manufactory. Winner of the prestigious Blade Magazine Overall Knife of The Year award at the Blade Show.
Design by Molletta, designed by a well-known and respected Italian designer with many years of experience. Michele Pensato (a.k.a. Molletta), is distinguished by a new approach to the use of materials and experiments in the application of heat treatment and the use of advanced software in knife design.
Sleipner - a blade in high-alloy chrome-molybdenum-vanadium universal tool steel with high wear and chipping resistance. Achieves high hardness of 60-61 HRC. Manufactured in Uddeholm, Sweden.
PVD + Stone Washed - durability of the surface of the blade and the cutting edge was increased by the PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) method consisting in deposition of thin layers from the gas phase and then subjected to Stone Washed finish masking minor scratches. The applied coating has a very high hardness, which significantly increases the resistance of the blade to abrasive wear.
Blade - Drop Point profile with a marked belly provides excellent cutting edge geometry and extreme cutting performance. The smooth Plain blade is led out with a full Flat Grind, which perfectly presents the black matte PVD + Stone Washed finish.
ReF - (Removable Flipper System) located on the underside of the head projection / flipper fin assisted by Double Crown makes it easy to open the blade with one hand. It consists of a small lever (projection) protruding beyond the back of the handle when the head is closed. In the open position the protrusion acts as a hilt, protecting the hand against slipping on the blade. In the folder it is possible to unscrew the Removable Flipper System lever (unscrew the flipper fin and then insert the second screw located in the box) and open the blade with both hands. This is important in countries where there is a ban on knives with one-handed opening blades in public places.
IKBS - (ball bearing system) enables fast, smooth opening of the blade.
Handle - steel liners with 3D machined G10 plastic liners in brown colour are attached to a spacer (liner / backspacer) made of solid titanium 6AI4V. A compact right-handed deep-pocket wire clip allows the knife to be carried deep in the pocket (discreetly) in tip-up position. The exposed steel head with lanyard hole, a rope hole can, as a last resort, be used as a hammer or glass breaker.
