N690 - cobalt-rich 1.65% (Co) corrosion-resistant, high-carbon 1.07% (C) martensitic chromium steel 17.30% (Cr) with molybdenum 1.10% (Mo), vanadium 0.10% (V). Developed to provide better wear resistance compared to the original Böhler N690 steel, but with higher cobalt (Co) content in its composition. It features exceptionally high corrosion resistance and long edge retention. One of the best tool steels in the world today. Hardened in the range of 58-61 HRC. Manufactured by Böhler Edelstahl in Kapfenberg, Austria.
Blade - Drop Point type with scratch-masking Stonewashed finish. The curved cutting edge with a prominent belly converges towards the needle-sharp tip of the knife. The thickness of the blade provides high strength while the high, flat grind gives excellent cutting edge geometry and extreme cutting performance. Ball bearings support the opening of the blade with a quick index-finger flipper when opened acting as a stag. The entire blade is locked with the proven and popular frame lock.
Handle - grips on the presentation side made of G10 with a thin layer of Carbon Fiber on top, practically indestructible plastic, insensitive to weather conditions, resistant to chemicals and mechanical damage. On the lock side, solid stainless steel. Chamfered edges of the covers eliminate sharp edges and textured surfaces improve grip security. The open-backed design fastened together with steel spacer sleeves reduces weight and facilitates cleaning. The simple, sturdy design provides assurance of many years of use. Deep finger groove (fore finger groove) improves grip security. The deep-carry, single-position (right) clip allows the knife to be carried in tip-up position.
