Icarus Blue Stonewash Titanium, Satin is the top of the line among folding knives produced by Bestech. Designed by Nick Rogers a young knifemaker from the USA, made with uncompromising quality by Bestech. Nic designs his knives as total cutting tools and the whole design is subordinated to that. When you add one of the world's best M390 tool steels, the result is one hell of an EDC knife!
M390 Microclean® - a martensitic high-performance chrome steel produced by powder metallurgy. Due to the alloy concept, it has extremely high wear resistance and high corrosion resistance. Due to its high wear resistance, it adequately maintains the shape of the edge, so the blade stays sharp for a very long time (requiring minimal maintenance). Another of the advantages is resistance to the formation of "wire" during sharpening. The steel has a high chromium content of 20.0% (Cr) doped with 1.9% carbon (C), vanadium 4.0% (V), and is hardened between 59-61 HRC. This super steel is comparable to Carpenter's CPM 20CV or CTS-204P steels. Manufactured by Böhler Edelstahl in Kapfenberg, Austria.
Blade - wide, Clip Point type with an elegant Satin finish. Long cutting edge converging towards the needle-sharp tip of the knife. The small thickness of the blade and the high, flat grind give excellent cutting edge geometry and extreme cutting performance. Ceramic ball bearings support the opening of the blade with a fast front flipper (index-finger front flipper). A dual thumb stud in the wedge (dual thumb stud) stylized in the shape of the sun, to which the mythical Icarus followed, can also be used for opening. A section of the back of the wedge is covered with upper jimping, a notched thumb rest for easy control of the knife. The whole thing is locked with the proven and popular frame lock with a steel insert to prevent wiping of the lock face.
Handle - is two pieces of solid 6AL4V titanium with Blue Stonewash finish. Ergonomically profiled, eliminate sharp edges for comfort, notches made in the grips improve grip security. Open-backed design without the typical backspacer, fastened together with steel spacers for easy cleaning. A single-position, right-handed titanium clip allows the knife to be carried in the tip-up position, with the tip of the blade upward.
Case - the knife is packed in a zippered nylon soft pouch with the brand's logo for safe carrying and storage of the folder.
