D2 - high-carbon, high-chromium high-speed tool steel heat-treated to 58-60 HRC. With a high 13.0% chromium (Cr) content, it offers greater corrosion resistance than most high-carbon steels. Combines strength, excellent edge holding and easy sharpening. Features high wear resistance due to high carbide content in the microstructure.
Blade - drop point, finished masking minor scratches by Stonewashed method and then coated with black coating. The generous belly extends the length of the cutting edge in relation to the length of the blade converging towards the needle-sharp tip of the knife. The blade's slim thickness combined with a high concave grind (Hollow Grind) results in excellent cutting properties combined with high durability. Ball bearing ceramic supports the smooth operation of the blade's opening mechanism, which can be opened with a quick flipper flipper (index-finger flipper). ULTEM™ - a plastic belonging to the family of Polyethermoids or simply PEI. This material is characterized primarily by high mechanical and impact strength with a very high strength-to-weight ratio. It is also characterized by high thermal resistance (180⁰C) and high chemical resistance to all kinds of solvents (synthetic and natural), lubricants or other chemicals. Adding to this total insensitivity to weather conditions, we get an ideal material for knife handles.
Handle - made of sandblasted, transparent Ultem™ plastic. All attached to steel liners. In practice, this means many years of service without weakening the structure. The so-called open-backed design without the typical backspacer, attached to each other with steel spacers for easy cleaning in the field. The pivot axis is decorated with a stylized Civivi brand logo. A right-side metal deep-carry clip allows you to carry the knife discreetly in your pocket in tip-up (blade up) position. Above the clip a lanyard hole, an oval hole for a cord.
Case - the knife is packed in a zippered nylon soft pouch with the brand's logo for safe carrying and storage of the folder.
