- Hydra Recurve Green Anodized Aluminium, Black DLC an automatic knife you won't confuse with any other! An automatic of more than average strength, it operates in S/A (Single Action) mode, the blade in excellent MagnaCut steel! Designed by Tony Marfione Jr
Hydra RE Green Anodized Aluminium, Black DLC MagnaCut one of the best OTF (Out The Front) automatic knives. It features the excellent fit and finish you would expect from a top of the range knife. The over-the-top automatic operates in S/A (Single Action) mode using a knife-opening mechanism that works with tremendous force and power. Designed by Anthony Marfione Jr. owner of Heretic Knives.
CPM MagnaCut - Powdered stainless steel manufactured using the Crucible® Particle Metallurgy (CPM) process hardened to 60.5-62.5 HRC. The high content of vanadium 4.0% (V), molybdenum 2.0% (Mo) and niobium 2.0% (Nb) guarantees accuracy and purity unmatched by more 'conventional' steels. Designed and developed specifically for blade production by Larrin Thomas, it meets all the requirements of knife enthusiasts. With CPM MagnaCut has succeeded in creating a steel that combines unique properties like no other knife steel. The result is a blade material that offers an extraordinary balance of wear resistance, strength and corrosion resistance. There is currently no other steel on the world market that offers a comparable combination of excellent properties. This unique steel is produced at Crucible® Industries' US steel mills.
S/A (Single Action) OTF - a knife with a blade that can be extended by pressing a button, but once extended the blade must be retracted by hand. This means that the blade can be ejected in less than a second, making this type of OTF very fast. However, the blade must be retracted when finished by pulling on the handle usually located on the back of the handle. One of the main advantages of single-action OTFs is the simplified mechanism which makes them very robust and durable. They require fewer parts, so there are fewer components that can break. This simplicity also means that the knife is less prone to failure during use.
DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) durability of the blade surface is enhanced with a matte black nanocomposite coating that exhibits the unique properties of natural diamonds, such as exceptional hardness and low friction, also corrosion resistance. It is one of the most resistant coatings to scratches and abrasion that are used in industry, including the knife industry.
Blade - RE (Recurve Edge) type with black DLC coating. Plain blade, derived with a high concave grind (Hollow Grind), providing excellent cutting properties. This gives the knife excellent piercing qualities whilst retaining its strength. On the back there are characteristic "ribs", reminiscent of the mythical Hydra. The mechanism for extending the blade by means of a moled drop-shaped button under the thumb requires, for safety, the application of a specific force to overcome the resistance of the spring.
Handle - made on CNC milling machines with excellent precision, from green anodised 6061-T6 aluminium. There are notches (jimping) on the Handle for a more secure grip. The slim design allows the knife to be tucked into any pocket. The single-position (right) deep carry clip, allows the knife to be carried discreetly in the pocket in the tip-down position (blade tip down). The back of the handle extends to retract the blade and tighten the spring for the next opening.

Przeczytaj!
This product is intended for use only by adults with knowledge and experience in handling sharp cutting tools. Improper use of the knife can result in serious injuries. The blade is extremely sharp and can easily cut through skin and tissue; therefore, extra caution should always be exercised while cutting, and hands should be kept away from the cutting edge. To prevent the knife from slipping, it is recommended to cut on a stable, non-slip surface and avoid excessive force, which may cause uncontrolled blade movement.
Leaving the knife on the edge of a table, countertop, or in easily accessible places—especially where children are present—poses a significant safety risk. The knife should always be properly secured after use, ideally by placing it on a stable surface or storing it in designated knife blocks, protective sheaths, or magnetic strips. The knife should never be used for tasks it is not designed for, such as opening cans or prying objects, as this can damage the tool and lead to dangerous accidents.
A dull blade increases the risk of injury, as it requires more force and is more likely to slip from the material being cut. Therefore, it is essential to sharpen the knife regularly to maintain optimal sharpness. Additionally, proper cleaning and drying of the knife are necessary to prevent corrosion and bacterial growth. Periodic inspection of the handle and blade is recommended to check for cracks, chips, or looseness. If any damage is detected, the knife should be repaired or replaced immediately.
When using the knife, focus solely on the task at hand—avoid talking on the phone, watching television, or other distractions while cutting. Ensure proper lighting in the workspace for better visibility and control. Please note that some countries or regions have laws restricting the ownership and carrying of knives. Before purchasing or using this knife, verify that its use is legal in your location according to applicable regulations.
Following these safety guidelines will help ensure safe and effective knife use, minimizing the risk of accidents and extending the lifespan of the tool.
