Dirac D/E Black Aluminum, Black F/S is a compact OTF automatic knife from the Dirac series. Operating in D/A mode, it features a hellishly fast blade extension mechanism. Slider button on the side of the handle. 100% made and assembled in the USA. Designed by Anthony Marfione, knifemaker and owner of Microtech Knives.

Dirac® - Microtech's first OTF Double Action automatic with the slider slide located in the recess of the handle. Updated ergonomic Handle with curved lines similar to HALO®. The signature Microtecha® ultra-high-performance features such as patented screws, innovative internal mechanism and glass striker are used in this line. With an overall length of 7.25 inches, the Dirac® is perfect for an everyday use knife (EDC).

Blade - Machine ground D/E (Double Edge Dagger) type, sharpened on both sides with one edge F/S (Full Serrated) and the other Plain. Finished in a striking Two Tone method, the Blade is black coated with satin-finished sections. The blade is derived with a high flat grind (Flat Grind), providing excellent cutting properties. As a result, the knife has excellent piercing properties while maintaining its strength. The centrally placed grain further strengthens the blade. The strong mechanism of extending/retracting the blade with the help of the moled Thumb Slide, a stepped thumb slide, requires for safety the application of a specific force to overcome the resistance of the spring. The method of opening provides seamless opening for both right and left-handed people.

Handle - made with excellent precision in 3D technology on CNC milling machines, from black anodized 6061-T6 aluminum. The surface texture of the Handle makes the knife non-slip in the hand during use. There are notches (jimping) on the back and bottom of the handle for a more secure grip. Characteristic is the location of the slider, in a recess milled into the side of the handle. Thanks to this, the hand lays more naturally when opening and closing the knife. The slim profile and the milled two-position (right/left) solid deep-carry clip allow the knife to be carried discreetly in the pocket, in tip-down position. The clip bears the Microtech logo, serial number and production date. The Handle is finished with a glass breaker, a solid steel triangle, into which a tungsten carbide ball has been pressed.
