187 DP Black PVD Titanium "Ghosted Flag", PVD HW, PVD w/Bronze Flats Clip, Black PVD is a large, massive folding knife manufactured in the USA by Medford Knife & Tool. It opens with a hole in the blade. The concave grind on the D2 steel blade was made by hand. This is unique in the knife industry; only a few manufacturers do the concave cut by hand. When opened, a solid framelock holds the blade in place. The stop-pin has been pressed into the blade so that it rests symmetrically on the handle, which is excellent for increasing strength. The knife gets its name from the thickness (0.187") of the titanium grips used in the construction of the Handle grips.

Greg Medford's idea was to create the most reliable knives imaginable while retaining their beauty and adding the "soul" of hand finishing.

D2 - a high-carbon, high-chromium high-speed tool steel heat-treated to 59-60 HRC. With a high chromium content of 13.0% (Cr), it offers greater corrosion resistance than most high-carbon steels. Combines strength, excellent edge holding and easy sharpening. It has high wear resistance due to its high carbide content in the microstructure.

In this version of the 187 DP we get a handmade concave grind, Blade coated with black PVD coating, a hole in the blade with which to open the knife. For increased insensitivity to contamination, phosphor bronze washer was used, making the pivot axis more resistant to field work. A powerful titanium frame lock bar secures the knife from folding, unfolded and secured the knife is as solid as an armored cash register.

Handle - titanium coated black PVD has been personalized (custom) by adding a discreet graphic on the presentation side, an American flag motif called "Ghosted Flag" by the manufacturer. The so-called open-backed design without the typical backspacer, attached to each other with spacer sleeves for easy cleaning. Simple and reliable construction. The whole is complemented by a massive clip, of course, also made of titanium whose edges have been finished with black PVD coating, and the flat part anodized bronze.

The knife is supplied in a waterproof and dust-resistant - IP67 rated and impact-resistant (MIL-STD-810F) technical case from the American S3 Case Company. Made of high-impact S433 resin - one of the most durable materials available in the world.

It comes - cardboard box, S3 Case, Dog Tag and signed "Certificate of Creation and Authenticity".
