Medford 187 DP Brushed/Flamed ''Galaxy'' Titanium, Black HW, Brsh/''Galaxy'' Clip, DLC D2 by Greg Medford (MK002DPD-03PV-TPCF-Q4)
- 187 DP Brushed/Flamed "Galaxy" Titanium, Black HW, Brsh/Galaxy Clip, Black DLC powerfully built folder for heavy-duty, featuring hand-crafted hollow grinds. This is rarity in knife industry only few producers are capable of executing hollow grinds by hand
187 DP Brushed/Flamed "Galaxy" Titanium, Black HW, Brsh/"Galaxy" Clip, Black DLC is a powerfully built folding knife ideal for men with large hands and suited for almost any task where a knife is needed. It is opened with an oval hole in the blade. The concave grind on the D2 steel blade was made by hand. This is unique in the knife industry; only a few manufacturers is capable of make a concave grind by hand. When opened, a solid framelock holds the blade in place. The stop-pin has been pressed into the blade so that it rests symmetrically against the handle, which brilliantly increases durability. The knife gets its name from the thickness (0.187") of the titanium scales used in the construction of the handle. Made entirely in the USA, according to the high standards set by Medford.
Greg Medford's idea was to create the most reliable knives imaginable while retaining their beauty and adding the “soul” of hand finishing.
D2 - a high-carbon, high-chromium high-speed tool steel heat -treated to 59-60 HRC. With a high chromium content of 13.0% (Cr), it offers greater corrosion resistance than most high-carbon steels. Combines strength, excellent edge holding and easy sharpening. Features high wear resistance due to high carbide content in the microstructure.
DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) durability of the blade surface is enhanced by a matte black nanocomposite coating, which exhibits unique properties such as exceptional hardness and low friction, as well as excellent corrosion protection. It is one of the most resistant coatings to scratches and abrasion that are used in the industry, including the knife industry.
Blade - with Drop Point profile. In this version of the 187 DP we get a handmade hollow grind, an oval opening in the blade with which to open the knife. Blade is covered with black DLC coating. Phosphor bronze washers have been used to make the pivot more insensitive to contamination, making the pivot more resistant to field work. A powerful titanium frame lock bar secures the knife from folding, unfolded and secured the knife is as solid as an armored cash register.
Handle made of titanium, on the presentation side was finished with blue “Galaxy” pattern. The lock side covered with a black coating. Open-backed design without the typical backspacer, attached to each other with spacer sleeves for easy cleaning. Simple and reliable design. The whole is complemented by a massive clip, of course, also made of titanium, finished with a blue “Galaxy” pattern.
Included - cardboard box, nylon pouch, company patch with Velcro attachment and signed “Certificate of Creation and Authenticity”.

Przeczytaj!
This product is intended for use only by adults with knowledge and experience in handling sharp cutting tools. Improper use of the knife can result in serious injuries. The blade is extremely sharp and can easily cut through skin and tissue; therefore, extra caution should always be exercised while cutting, and hands should be kept away from the cutting edge. To prevent the knife from slipping, it is recommended to cut on a stable, non-slip surface and avoid excessive force, which may cause uncontrolled blade movement.
Leaving the knife on the edge of a table, countertop, or in easily accessible places—especially where children are present—poses a significant safety risk. The knife should always be properly secured after use, ideally by placing it on a stable surface or storing it in designated knife blocks, protective sheaths, or magnetic strips. The knife should never be used for tasks it is not designed for, such as opening cans or prying objects, as this can damage the tool and lead to dangerous accidents.
A dull blade increases the risk of injury, as it requires more force and is more likely to slip from the material being cut. Therefore, it is essential to sharpen the knife regularly to maintain optimal sharpness. Additionally, proper cleaning and drying of the knife are necessary to prevent corrosion and bacterial growth. Periodic inspection of the handle and blade is recommended to check for cracks, chips, or looseness. If any damage is detected, the knife should be repaired or replaced immediately.
When using the knife, focus solely on the task at hand—avoid talking on the phone, watching television, or other distractions while cutting. Ensure proper lighting in the workspace for better visibility and control. Please note that some countries or regions have laws restricting the ownership and carrying of knives. Before purchasing or using this knife, verify that its use is legal in your location according to applicable regulations.
Following these safety guidelines will help ensure safe and effective knife use, minimizing the risk of accidents and extending the lifespan of the tool.
