- Stitch S/E Fluted Black G10, Apocalyptic P/S: The manual version of the popular design by Sebastiaan Berenji from Bork Blades and Microtech. Wide, harpoon-shaped blade, excellent materials and the legendary workmanship of Microtech Knives.
Stitch S/E Fluted Black G10, Apocalyptic P/S A manual version of the bold design of the versatile tactical knife, a collaboration between Sebastijan Berenji and Microtech. The wide blade and the straight handle, which is comfortable to grip, make for a strong tactical knife that has been manufactured with attention to detail and using the best materials. A faithful companion that will never let you down.
Borka Blades (Sebastijan Berenji) is a very popular custom knife maker with skills that attract a large following of blade enthusiasts. Sebastijan was born and raised in Yugoslavia and became a US citizen in 2016. The company is named after his late mother, Borka. A few years after starting his career as a knifemaker, he designed a unique folding knife that attracted a lot of attention among collectors and enthusiasts. Not only did he draw attention to himself, but he also caught the eye of Microtech Knives CEO Anthony Marfione, who offered him a partnership.
M390MK - thanks to the cooperation of Microtech and Böhler engineers, an exclusive version of M390 steel was created, made only for Microtech. The carbon content was increased and subjected to more thorough control, improving the properties of M390 steel to ensure better edge retention, corrosion resistance and polishing. A martensitic high-performance chromium steel produced using powder metallurgy. Due to the alloy concept, it is characterized by extremely high wear resistance and high corrosion resistance. Due to its high wear resistance, it keeps its edge well, which means that the blade stays sharp for a very long time (minimal maintenance required). Another advantage is that it is resistant to “wire” formation during sharpening. Steel with a high chromium content of 19.0% (Cr) and an admixture of 1.95% carbon (C), 4.0% vanadium (V), hardened to 59-61 HRC. This super steel is comparable to Carpenter's CPM 20CV or CTS-204P steels. Manufactured by Böhler Edelstahl in Kapfenberg, Austria.
Ram-Lock (Crossbar Lock) - a horizontal crossbar that moves in longitudinal notches in the steel side plates of the handle skeleton. When the knife is opened, the locking bar covers the back of the blade from above, preventing it from moving back. This bar is pressed down by two springs. Unlocking is done by pulling back the locking bar, the ends of which are accessible through the notches in the Handle grips. In the closed position, the bar presses against the cam surface at the back of the blade, preventing it from opening by itself. The advantages of the Ram-Lock are resistance to dirt, practical insensitivity to dynamic loads, ease of use with either the right or left hand, and lightness of operation.
Blade - wide, S/E type (Single Edge Spear Point), finished with an impressive Apocalyptic patina, partially serrated. The gently curved cutting edge converges towards a needle-sharp tip. The robust blade thickness in combination with the flat grind provides excellent cutting properties combined with high durability. The long, false edge on the back increases the already high material penetration. The knife is opened through the wide thumb hole. To maintain full control over the blade, there is a large, serrated finger choil at the bottom and upper jimping, a corrugated thumb rest, on the back of the blade. The whole knife is secured with a convenient Ram-Lock.
Handle - CNC milled with high precision from G10, a virtually indestructible composite material that is resistant to weather, chemicals and mechanical damage, with a deeply milled 3D fluted texture. Wide locking slider with Microtech's signature X-pattern texture. Both grips are screwed together with a solid aluminum backspacer. A two-sided (right/left) clip allows the knife to be carried discreetly in a tip-up position. The protruding part of the backspacer, which has a hole for a cord, can also be used as an improvised glass breaker.
