Military 2 Brown Canvas Micarta, Satin CruWear The second generation of Spyderco's iconic Military model, which has been in continuous production for over 25 years. One of the most recognizable Spyderco knives, it has gained a following in both the military and civilian markets. Full-size handle makes it easy to use the folder with gloves or for people with large hands. The reinforced, open design makes it easy to clean and adjust the folder. Manufactured at the Spyderco factory in the USA (Golden, Colorado).

CPM Cru-Wear - high-carbon premium air-hardening tool steel with a hardness of 60-65 HRC. Produced by US Crucible Industries according to the CPM process (Crucible Particle Metallurgy) as an improvement on the manufacturer's conventional Cru-Wear and D2 steels. Produced according to the CPM process, it is more resistant to chipping and cracking than most conventionally produced tool steels. It is not stainless steel. For steel to qualify as stainless, it must contain at least 12% chromium. CruWear contains 7.5% chromium but still offers a high level of corrosion resistance. It contains a high 1.1% carbon, 7.5% chromium, 1.6% molybdenum, 2.48% vanadium and 1.15% tungsten balance for key properties: hardness, toughness, edge retention, machinability, wear resistance and ease of sharpening. It is not easy to find a steel that performs so well in so many categories.

Compression-Lock - (similar to Liner-Lock) a blade locking mechanism patented by Spyderco (made in the USA). Extremely durable, it ensures extreme strength and ease of use. Located on the back of the handle, it prevents the knife from being accidentally closed. When releasing the lock, the fingers are not in the way of the folding blade.

Blade - modified Clip Point profile with enlarged 14 mm SpyderHole (Spyderco patent) for quick opening of the knife even when wearing gloves, enlarged thumb ramp with notches (spine jimping) to help control the large blade. Index Finger Choil (notched profile undercut between the handle and the cutting edge) prevents the folder from slipping in the hand when making strong cuts. Plain blade in combination with full flat grind for perfect cutting edge geometry and extreme cutting performance.

Handle - full-sized, profiled, covered with light, non-slip textured grips made of durable, temperature and chemical resistant Micarta composite, screwed to steel liners. The folder is equipped with a screw-on metal clip with 4-way clip positions. The back of the handle has an enlarged hole (lanyard hole) for pulling a leash or safety cord.
