Curtis Iovito, co-founder and co-owner of Spartan Blades, spent his youth hunting and camping along the Dupage River in Illinois. After completing his service as a nuclear security guard in the United States Marine Corps, he re-enlisted in the US Army. As a member of the United States Army Rangers, he took part in the airborne landing at Rio Hato during Operation “Just Cause” in Panama. Later in his service, as an armament sergeant in the Special Forces, he specialized in irregular warfare, focusing on counter-terrorism and sniping. It was during his service that he developed his passion for knife making, producing knives for his colleagues from the 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne). After his retirement, he used his extensive military experience and passion for knife making to found Spartan Blades, a company that produces high-quality tactical knives valued by professionals and collectors alike.
Spartan Blades - In 2008, in a historic barn in Aberdeen, North Carolina, two retired non-commissioned officers of the United States Army Special Forces, Curtis Iovito and Mark Carey, combined more than 40 years of military experience to found Spartan Blades, a company specializing in the production of the highest quality knives intended for both military and civilian use. Each knife, reflecting their constant pursuit of perfection, is carefully designed and made from the finest materials, such as CPM MagnaCut steel and titanium. Thanks to its collaboration with renowned designers, including William W. Harsey, Jr., Spartan Blades has won numerous industry awards, including the prestigious title of “American Made Knife of the Year” for the Spartan-Harsey Folder model in 2016. In 2019, as a result of the merger with KA-BAR Knives, Spartan Blades expanded its production capabilities, introducing three product lines: Gold, Silver and Bronze, tailored to the diverse needs of customers. Today, Spartan Blades remains synonymous with excellence in the world of knives, combining military precision with the highest craftsmanship.
1095 Cro-Van - cold-rolled, high-carbon tool steel with a carbon content of 0.95% (C) and manganese content of 0.5% (Mn) and a hardness range of 55-58 HRC. Characterized by high cutting aggression and long-lasting sharpness. Used for the production of knives, swords and blades, it has a great edge and is very easy to sharpen.
CAUTION!!! Due to its high carbon content, 1095 steel is not stainless and requires more attention. Remember to wipe it thoroughly dry after each use.
Blade - classic drop point, black powder-coated. Long cutting edge with marked belly. Blade thickness ensures high strength, while full flat grinding provides excellent cutting edge geometry and extreme cutting performance. Ramped back of the blade for precise thumb guide.
Handle - grips made of Canvas Micarta composite, a virtually indestructible material that is resistant to weather, chemicals and mechanical damage. The profiled shape and precise texturing ensure a comfortable, secure grip even with wet hands. Forefinger groove on the front for improved grip. The extension at the front forms a mini guard to prevent the hand from accidentally sliding onto the blade.
Sheath - made of plastic, extendable, protecting the blade and part of the handle. The thumb lever facilitates quick drawing of the knife. Compatible with the MOLLE standard, it allows for attaching a holster under the M.O.L.L.E. (Modular Lightweight Load-carrying Equipment) system straps (Modular Lightweight Load-carrying Equipment) or carried on a belt or on equipment. A set of holes on the edge allows you to customize the way you carry it.

Przeczytaj!
This product is intended for use only by adults with knowledge and experience in handling sharp cutting tools. Improper use of the knife can result in serious injuries. The blade is extremely sharp and can easily cut through skin and tissue; therefore, extra caution should always be exercised while cutting, and hands should be kept away from the cutting edge. To prevent the knife from slipping, it is recommended to cut on a stable, non-slip surface and avoid excessive force, which may cause uncontrolled blade movement.
Leaving the knife on the edge of a table, countertop, or in easily accessible places—especially where children are present—poses a significant safety risk. The knife should always be properly secured after use, ideally by placing it on a stable surface or storing it in designated knife blocks, protective sheaths, or magnetic strips. The knife should never be used for tasks it is not designed for, such as opening cans or prying objects, as this can damage the tool and lead to dangerous accidents.
A dull blade increases the risk of injury, as it requires more force and is more likely to slip from the material being cut. Therefore, it is essential to sharpen the knife regularly to maintain optimal sharpness. Additionally, proper cleaning and drying of the knife are necessary to prevent corrosion and bacterial growth. Periodic inspection of the handle and blade is recommended to check for cracks, chips, or looseness. If any damage is detected, the knife should be repaired or replaced immediately.
When using the knife, focus solely on the task at hand—avoid talking on the phone, watching television, or other distractions while cutting. Ensure proper lighting in the workspace for better visibility and control. Please note that some countries or regions have laws restricting the ownership and carrying of knives. Before purchasing or using this knife, verify that its use is legal in your location according to applicable regulations.
Following these safety guidelines will help ensure safe and effective knife use, minimizing the risk of accidents and extending the lifespan of the tool.
