Dirac Delta D/E Red Aluminum, Black is an enlarged OTF automatic knife from the Dirac series. Operating in D/A mode , it features a hellishly fast blade extension mechanism. Slider button on the side of the handle. 100% made and assembled in the USA. Designed by Anthony Marfione, knifemaker and owner of Microtech Knives.

The Dirac Delta® is an enlarged version of the first OTF D/A (Double Action) automatic knife in the Microtech® lineup, featuring a slider located in the handle's side recess. This model features a modern, ergonomic handle with curved lines inspired by the iconic HALO® model. The Dirac Delta® series features Microtech®'s signature premium solutions - patented screws, an innovative internal mechanism and a functional glass breaker. With an overall length of 9.25 inches, the Dirac Delta® is an excellent choice as an everyday use knife (EDC).

M390MK - a collaboration between Microtech and Böhler engineers resulted in an exclusive version of M390 steel made only for Microtech. The carbon content has been increased and subjected to closer scrutiny thus improving the properties of M390 steel to provide better edge retention, corrosion resistance and polishing. Martensitic high-performance chromium steel produced by powder metallurgy. Due to its alloy concept, it has extremely high wear resistance and high corrosion resistance. Due to its high wear resistance, it adequately maintains the shape of the edge, so the blade stays sharp for a very long time (requiring minimal maintenance). Another of the advantages is resistance to the formation of “wire” during sharpening. The steel has a high chromium content of 19.0% (Cr) doped with 1.95% carbon (C), vanadium 4.0% (V), and is hardened to 59-61 HRC. This super steel is comparable to Carpenter's CPM 20CV or CTS-204P steels. Manufactured by Böhler Edelstahl in Kapfenberg, Austria.

Blade - machine-ground D/E (Double Edge) Dagger blade , sharpened on both sides, with a long line of grain on both sides to strengthen the design. The durability of the blade's surface is enhanced by a non-reflective, matte Black Finished nanocomposite coating, which features exceptional hardness, low coefficient of friction and excellent corrosion resistance. The blade is derived with a high flat grind (Flat Grind), providing excellent cutting properties. This, combined with the high strength of the construction, gives the knife excellent piercing ability. The centrally placed grain further stiffens the blade. The powerful blade extension and retraction mechanism, operated by a mottled, stepped Thumb Slide, requires the application of a pronounced force to overcome the resistance of the spring for safety. The method of opening guarantees trouble-free and reliable operation for both right- and left-handed people.

Handle - made with excellent precision in 3D technology on CNC milling machines, from Mil-Spec coated aluminum 6061-T6. The surface texture of the Handle makes the knife non-slip in the hand during use. There are notches (jimping) on the back and bottom of the handle for a more secure grip. A distinctive feature is the location of the slider, in a recess milled into the side of the handle. This allows the hand to lay more naturally when opening and closing the knife. The slim profile and the milled two-position (right/left) solid deep-carry clip allow the knife to be carried discreetly in the pocket, in tip-down (blade tip down) position. The clip bears the Microtech logo, serial number and production date. The Handle is finished with glass breaker, a solid steel triangle, into which a tungsten carbide ball has been pressed.
