Spyderco Dyad Jr. Lighweight Sprint Run Knife Cobalt Blue FRN, Satin CPM SPY27 by Sal Glesser (C39PSCBL)
- Dyad Jr. Lightweight Sprint Run Cobalt Blue FRN, Satin is a unique dual blade EDC folding knife designed by Sal Glesser. The limited edition Sprint Run® combines a CPM SPY27 and a lightweight FRN in cobalt blue.
Dyad Jr. Lightweight Sprint Run Cobalt Blue FRN, Satin is a reinterpretation of one of the most unusual concepts by Sal Glesser - a folding knife with two independent Blades, designed for maximum versatility in everyday use. This unique form, debuted in the late 1990s and returns in a limited edition Sprint Run®, with modern materials, improved construction and a collectible finish. A central feature of the Dyad Jr. is the ability to switch between two blades - each adapted for a different type of task. Blades are made of patented CPM SPY27 steel, providing an excellent balance of sharpness retention, corrosion resistance and ease of sharpening. The FRN composite handle in the elite cobalt blue color reserved for knives with SPY27 steel blades, equipped with Volcano Grip texture , provides a stable grip in all conditions - even with wet hands. Rounded edges and undercuts promote ergonomics, regardless of the size of the user's hand. The use of bolt-on construction increases durability and facilitates service. Dyad Jr. is an EDC knife that redefines the concept of functionality - it allows dynamic response in the field without compromising on quality and ergonomics. It is a choice for users and collectors who appreciate both technical solutions, and remarkable character.
CPM SPY27 - a proprietary blend of alloys including vanadium, molybdenum, niobium, nitrogen and cobalt. The high-alloy stainless steel contains 1.4% carbon and a 1% admixture of niobium (Nb), one of the best carbides, which contributes to the steel's wear resistance. Thanks to its properties, the steel holds sharpness for a very long time and guarantees aggressive cuts for a long time. It is easy to sharpen, corrosion resistant and contains a high admixture of 14% chromium. It provides good strength and cutting edge retention, as well as a fine-grained structure. Produced by US Crucible Industries using the particle metallurgy / Crucible® Particle Metallurgy (CPM) method. The CPM process creates a very homogeneous, high-quality steel with excellent dimensional stability, grindability and toughness compared to steels produced by conventional methods.
Blade - the design is based on two independent blades made of CPM SPY27 steel - a material developed specifically for Spyderco, providing edge stability and high wear resistance. The first blade - sheepfoot with SpyderEdge edge and saber grind - works well in cutting fibrous materials and webbing, providing aggression and control in pulling movements. The second - a clip point in full flat grind - was created for precise, accurate cuts, where finesse and clean blade guidance count. Both blades are equipped with a Trademark Round Hole, which allows for smooth, one-handed opening. Independent back lock mechanisms operate in a bypass lock system , which allows you to safely use each blade separately, without the risk of collision or accidental release of the lock.
Handle - made of FRN (fiberglass reinforced nylon) plastic in cobalt blue, a hallmark of the SPY27 line. The Volcano Grip™ structure provides high grip and grip security in all conditions - both with wet hands and with gloves. The ergonomics of the Handle allows comfortable operation of both Blades regardless of the grip, and the lightweight and compact form makes the knife fit well in your pocket - the model is designed for in-pocket carry, without a clip, which increases discretion and comfort in carrying. The use of bolt-on construction increases strength and precision of assembly - important for knives with dual mechanics. The Spyderco Dyad Jr. Lightweight is a combination of conceptual boldness, modern materials and limited uniqueness, aimed at people who expect more from an EDC than just a blade.

Przeczytaj!
This product is intended for use only by adults with knowledge and experience in handling sharp cutting tools. Improper use of the knife can result in serious injuries. The blade is extremely sharp and can easily cut through skin and tissue; therefore, extra caution should always be exercised while cutting, and hands should be kept away from the cutting edge. To prevent the knife from slipping, it is recommended to cut on a stable, non-slip surface and avoid excessive force, which may cause uncontrolled blade movement.
Leaving the knife on the edge of a table, countertop, or in easily accessible places—especially where children are present—poses a significant safety risk. The knife should always be properly secured after use, ideally by placing it on a stable surface or storing it in designated knife blocks, protective sheaths, or magnetic strips. The knife should never be used for tasks it is not designed for, such as opening cans or prying objects, as this can damage the tool and lead to dangerous accidents.
A dull blade increases the risk of injury, as it requires more force and is more likely to slip from the material being cut. Therefore, it is essential to sharpen the knife regularly to maintain optimal sharpness. Additionally, proper cleaning and drying of the knife are necessary to prevent corrosion and bacterial growth. Periodic inspection of the handle and blade is recommended to check for cracks, chips, or looseness. If any damage is detected, the knife should be repaired or replaced immediately.
When using the knife, focus solely on the task at hand—avoid talking on the phone, watching television, or other distractions while cutting. Ensure proper lighting in the workspace for better visibility and control. Please note that some countries or regions have laws restricting the ownership and carrying of knives. Before purchasing or using this knife, verify that its use is legal in your location according to applicable regulations.
Following these safety guidelines will help ensure safe and effective knife use, minimizing the risk of accidents and extending the lifespan of the tool.
