Balisong / butterfly / batangas / taal / butterfly, a type of folding knife used for defence. The folder derives its name from Balisung in the Philippines meaning singing butterfly. Dating back to the 7th century AD, it is considered one of the oldest weapons in the Kali fighting system. It is one of the most recognizable types of knives in the world.
Head - Drop Point from corrosion-resistant stainless steel. Plain blade has a high, concave grind (Hollow Grind) which translates into a stronger blade. The two-sided hilt protects the hand from slipping off the handle. Solid kicker when the knife is folded prevents the blade from contact with the interior of the handle and damaging the cutting edge.
Handle - consists of two steel arms, notched for better grip which provides a comfortable, secure grip to facilitate the performance of advanced tricks. The blade is locked by joining the arms with Latchem, a small lock on the back of the handle, which allows the handle arms to be locked in both open and closed positions.
Cover - comes with a soft velvet case in black.
