AISI 420 (American Iron and Steel Institute) martensitic stainless steel rich in 0.15% carbon, containing min. 12% chromium, which offers high hardenability in the range of 54-56 HRC as well as strength, ductility, machinability and excellent corrosion resistance. The high carbon content produces chromium carbide compounds for wear resistance and edge retention when cured. Due to its high hardness, the steel is suitable for the production of cutting tools, knife blades and medical tools.
Blade - with a Drop Point profile with an extremely sharp edge provides above-average cutting properties. The Plain smooth blade was made with a concave cut (Hollow grind). The blade is covered with a matte BT (Black Teflon) coating that eliminates glare.
