A corkscrew (Old Polish: trybuszon, French: tire-bouchon, grajcar, grajcarek) is a device for removing corks from bottles. In its most basic construction it is a screwed skewer, at the end of which there is a handle for screwing the corkscrew into the cork and removing the cork. Nowadays, the word "chervil" is more often used to describe a multi-tool device that contains other tools useful for opening bottles in addition to the corkscrew.

Construction

Aluminum handle in Gold color, made of one block of material, without additional joints, what guarantees extraordinary durability of construction. Tools are attached directly to the handle. Handle profiling provides a comfortable grip when working with the tribrach.

Farfalli DLS - patented double lever construction, the cork is pulled out much easier and with less force.

The corkscrew is made of high quality stainless steel AISI 420 and the same steel has a serrated blade used for cutting the foil. A cap opener is hidden in the lever arm.

AISI 420 (American Iron and Steel Institute) - martensitic stainless steel rich in carbon 0.15% and containing min. 12% chromium. In the annealed condition it has good formability and excellent corrosion resistance. AISI 420 grade has the highest chromium content of all stainless steels 12-14% and hardness in the range 52 -55 HRC.

Farfalli was founded in June 1950 by Marino Farfalli, who had previously worked for a large cutlery company. Initially the company produced pocket knives but within a few years the market expanded from Italy to the rest of the world; production diversified and other promotional items began to be produced, including pocket corkscrews and waiter's corkscrews. The demand for these goods grew and in the 1970s, the production of corkscrews became the company's main activity. Farfalli began to specialize in this field, exploring innovative solutions and new models, and now offers a wide range of corkscrews, from plastic to wood to stainless steel products.
