ERMES Black Operativo is a commemorative knife developed in cooperation with the Special Operations Helicopter Regiment (R.E.O.S.), which is part of the Italian Army Aviation Command. R.E.O.S. is a special forces helicopter support operational unit composed of specially selected personnel, well trained and equipped to support military operations in any operational context.

N690 - corrosion-resistant, high-carbon 1.07% (C), martensitic chromium steel 17.30% (Cr) with the addition of molybdenum 1.10% (Mo), vanadium 0.10% (V) and cobalt 1.50% (Co) for structural uniformity. Features exceptionally high corrosion resistance and long edge retention. One of the best tool steels in the world today. Hardened in the range of 59-61 HRC. Manufactured by Böhler Edelstahl in Kapfenberg, Austria.

Blade - massive with modern Spearhead (spearhead) profile with diamond-shaped geometry, chemically polished with non-reflective matte MIL-C-13924 BURNISHING coating. Plain blade is derived with a high flat grind (Flat grind) with a wide beard to reinforce the profile of the blade. The high grind provides excellent cutting edge geometry, and the false blade facilitates penetration. Double guard, a double-sided steel hilt/guard to protect the hand from slipping on the blade, in the characteristic form of the "wings" of the Greek god, Hermes.

Handle - covered with FRN (Fiberglass Reinforced Nylon) plastic facings. Screwed directly to the tango with screws, which can be unscrewed in the field even with a coin. Such a solution makes the construction solid, and the knife is better balanced. The steel head with an enlarged oval hole (lanyard hole) that allows you to pull a lanyard or safety line, can act as a hammer / glass breaker and more....

Sheath - made of Kydex and nylon fabric, in black allows you to safely carry and and quickly retrieve the knife. It can be carried on the belt, using the holes on the edges to attach the optional Tek-Lok type attachment, and the two included clips allow you to carry it clipped to the M.O.L.L.E. system.
