CPM-3V - wear-resistant tool steel with high hardness. Manufactured by US Crucible Industries using the particle metallurgy / Crucible® Particle Metallurgy (CPM) method. The CPM process creates a highly homogeneous, high-quality steel with excellent dimensional stability, grindability and ductility compared to steels produced by conventional methods. Designed to provide maximum fracture and chipping resistance in high wear resistance steels. It offers impact resistance greater than A2, D2, Cru-Wear or CPM M4, approaching the levels provided by S7 and other impact-resistant grades. CPM 3V is hardened to 61-63 HRC for applications where chronic cracking and chipping is found in other tool steels, but where the abrasive properties of high-alloy steel are required.

Blade - machine ground Drop Point type with a scratch-masking Stonewashed finish. The belly extends the length of the cutting edge in relation to the length of the slender blade converging towards the needle-sharp tip of the knife. The thickness of the blade provides high strength while the high, flat grind gives excellent cutting edge geometry and extreme cutting performance. Mechanical locking by snapping a section of the Handle onto the oval locking pin.

Handle - CNC-milled titanium Exoskeleton, an external skeleton with a movable top section responsible for opening and closing the knife. The chamfered edges of the sheaths eliminate sharp edges, and the perfectly matched Burlap micarta inlays add an exclusive touch and improve grip security. On the right side, an artful sliding lock slider for advancing/retracting the blade. Once it is moved to the secure "lock" position, the knife will not be opened/closed by accident. A single-position titanium (right) deep-carry clip allows you to discreetly carry the knife in your pocket in tip-down position (blade tip down).
