Microtech Arbiter S/E Black G10, Apocalyptic M390MK by Adam Marfione Knife (104-10AP)
- Arbiter S/E Black G10, Apocalyptic, Microtech's largest fixed blade knife. Powerful Bowie-type blade in what is considered one of the best Böhler M390MK knife steels. Comfortable, ergonomically contoured G10 composite handle.
The Arbiter S/E Black G10, Apocalyptic is the largest fixed blade knife offered by Microtech, a company known for producing high quality cutting tools. This impressive knife features a powerful Bowie-type blade, and is made from excellent M390MK steel, which is the result of a collaboration between two renowned companies - Microtech and Böhler. This steel is known for its exceptional strength and long sharpness retention, making this knife unafraid of any challenge. Handle is made of G10 composite, durable and weather-resistant. Ergonomically profiled, it provides comfort even for long use. Kydex sheath that allows trouting to M.O.L.L.E. systems. A functional, but also attractive knife that combines durability, ergonomics and style. A tool that is sure to satisfy even the most demanding users.
M390MK - thanks to the cooperation of Microtech and Böhler engineers, an exclusive version of M390 steel made only for Microtech was created. The carbon content has been increased and subjected to closer scrutiny thus improving the properties of M390 steel to provide better edge retention, corrosion resistance and polishing. Martensitic high-performance chromium steel produced by powder metallurgy. Due to its alloy concept, it has extremely high wear resistance and high corrosion resistance. Due to its high wear resistance, it adequately maintains the shape of the edge, so the blade stays sharp for a very long time (requiring minimal maintenance). Another of the advantages is resistance to the formation of “wire” during sharpening. The steel has a high chromium content of 19.0% (Cr) doped with 1.95% carbon (C), vanadium 4.0% (V), and is hardened between 59-61 HRC. This super steel is comparable to Carpenter's CPM 20CV or CTS-204P steels. Manufactured by Böhler Edelstahl in Kapfenberg, Austria.
Blade - a machine-ground long S/E (Single Edge Clip Point) Bowie blade, impressively finished with Apocalyptic patination. Despite its thickness, the Flat Grind provides excellent cutting properties combined with superb durability. A large choil at the beginning of the cutting edge provides finger room for a precise grip. The wedge bears the Microtech logo, as well as the serial number and production date. The long false blade combined with the weight of the knife provides impressive piercing capabilities. On the back of the blade a finger notch.
Handle - profiled with finger notches. Grips made of G10 plastic attached directly to the blade with proprietary Microtech screws. This is the simplest and most secure design that ensures the practical indestructibility of the knife. The advantage of G10 is the extraordinary strength of the material combined with almost complete insensitivity to weather conditions. Handle covered along its entire length with notches (jimping) which reinforces the certainty of the grip and control over the knife while working. The protruding section of the tang can be used as a glass breaker, and also includes a lanyard hole, a hole for a belaying or decorative rope.
Sheath - made of carbon fiber laminated kydex, provides a secure hold on the knife in any position. The M.O.L.L.E. type attachment to the belt or to the equipment's shoulder strap allows the knife to be carried vertically or horizontally.
