- Hydra R/E Red Camo Aluminium, Black/Satin an automatic knife you won't confuse with any other! An automatic of more than average strength, it works in S/A (Single Action) mode with the excellent MagnaCut steel on blade! Designed by Tony Marfione Jr
Hydra R/E Red Camo Aluminum, Black DLC/Satin, one of the most refined OTF (Out The Front) automatic knives on the market. An exceptional knife, created by Anthony Marfione Jr., owner of Heretic Knives, a symbol of excellence and precision. The construction, in 6061-T6 aluminum, emphasizes its elegance and strength, the blade, made of what is now considered the best steel for CPM MagnaCut knives, providing excellent cutting properties. The knife's opening mechanism, operates in S/A (Single Action) mode with tremendous force and power, allowing the blade to open instantly and securely. This is a feature that sets the Hydra R/E apart from other automatic knives. However, what really sets this knife apart is its superior fit and finish. Every detail, from the Handle to the blade, has been designed with comfort and functionality in mind. The knife's ergonomic Handle is designed to provide a secure grip, and its weight helps absorb energy when opening. The Hydra R/E is not just a knife, it is a work of functional art. Its unique design and exceptional quality make it a product that deserves a place in any knife collection. It is a true symbol of luxury and sophistication.
CPM MagnaCut - powder stainless steel produced by the Crucible® Particle Metallurgy (CPM) process hardened between 60.5-62.5 HRC. The high content of vanadium 4.0% (V), molybdenum 2.0% (Mo) and niobium 2.0% (Nb) guarantees accuracy and purity unmatched by more “conventional” steels. Designed and developed specifically for blade production by Larrin Thomas, it meets all the requirements of knife enthusiasts. With CPM, MagnaCut was able to create a steel that combines unique properties like no other knife steel. The result is a blade material that offers a remarkable balance of wear resistance, strength and corrosion resistance. There is no other steel on the world market today that offers a comparable combination of superior properties. This exceptional steel is produced at Crucible® Industries' U.S. steel mills.
S/A (Single Action) OTF - a knife with a blade that can be ejected by pressing a button, but once ejected, the blade must be retracted by hand. This means that the blade can be ejected in less than a second, making this type of OTF very fast. However, the blade must be retracted when finished by pulling the handle, usually located on the back of the handle. One of the main advantages of single-action OTFs is the simplified mechanism which makes them very strong and very durable. They require fewer parts, so there are fewer components that can break. This simplicity also means the knife is less prone to failure during use.
Blade - R/E (Recurve Edge) type with a single cutting edge. The blade with an elegant Two Tone finish, the grinds coated with a black coating, the rest satin-finished. Plain blade, brought out with a high concave grind (Hollow Grind), providing excellent cutting properties. As a result, while maintaining high strength, the knife has excellent piercing properties. On the back there are characteristic “ribs”, reminiscent of the mythical Hydra. The mechanism of extending the blade by means of a mothballed drop-shaped button, located under the thumb, requires for safety to apply a specific force to overcome the resistance of the spring.
Handle - made on CNC milling machines with excellent precision, from anodized 6061-T6 aluminum. There are notches (jimping) on the Handle for a more secure grip. The slim design allows the knife to be tucked into any pocket. A single-position (right) deep-carry clip, allows the knife to be carried discreetly in a pocket in tip-down position (blade tip down). The back of the Handle extends to retract the blade and tighten the spring for the next opening.

Przeczytaj!
This product is intended for use only by adults with knowledge and experience in handling sharp cutting tools. Improper use of the knife can result in serious injuries. The blade is extremely sharp and can easily cut through skin and tissue; therefore, extra caution should always be exercised while cutting, and hands should be kept away from the cutting edge. To prevent the knife from slipping, it is recommended to cut on a stable, non-slip surface and avoid excessive force, which may cause uncontrolled blade movement.
Leaving the knife on the edge of a table, countertop, or in easily accessible places—especially where children are present—poses a significant safety risk. The knife should always be properly secured after use, ideally by placing it on a stable surface or storing it in designated knife blocks, protective sheaths, or magnetic strips. The knife should never be used for tasks it is not designed for, such as opening cans or prying objects, as this can damage the tool and lead to dangerous accidents.
A dull blade increases the risk of injury, as it requires more force and is more likely to slip from the material being cut. Therefore, it is essential to sharpen the knife regularly to maintain optimal sharpness. Additionally, proper cleaning and drying of the knife are necessary to prevent corrosion and bacterial growth. Periodic inspection of the handle and blade is recommended to check for cracks, chips, or looseness. If any damage is detected, the knife should be repaired or replaced immediately.
When using the knife, focus solely on the task at hand—avoid talking on the phone, watching television, or other distractions while cutting. Ensure proper lighting in the workspace for better visibility and control. Please note that some countries or regions have laws restricting the ownership and carrying of knives. Before purchasing or using this knife, verify that its use is legal in your location according to applicable regulations.
Following these safety guidelines will help ensure safe and effective knife use, minimizing the risk of accidents and extending the lifespan of the tool.
