3Cr13MoV is a martensitic chromium steel that has been enriched with molybdenum (Mo) and vanadium (V) to improve its performance properties. The typical chemical composition includes about 0.26-0.35% carbon (C), 12.5-14.5% chromium (Cr), 0.4-0.6% molybdenum (Mo) and 0.1-0.2% vanadium (V). The addition of chromium provides corrosion resistance, while molybdenum increases hardenability, high-temperature strength and resistance to pitting corrosion.
